Atalanta Fugiens — promo film, rebuilt from the original footage in 2026

Overview

Atalanta Fugiens turned a 45-minute walk through Moscow's Kitay-Gorod into theatre. You followed a route with headphones on while the city opened into five AR acts, built from a seventeenth-century alchemical text.

I produced the mobile experience and directed the trailer, plus the onboarding that moved someone from a landing page into the IMMERSE app.

In 2026 I rebuilt the promo from the original 2020 footage. The edit is data — a shot list in JSON — and one command reassembles the whole film, so changing a shot never means re-cutting by hand.

My Role

  • Production of the mobile AR experience
  • Creative direction of the trailer
  • Product communication and audience onboarding
  • AI-assisted rebuild of the 2026 promo film

Result

The project launched publicly in 2020 as a mobile AR performance connecting theatre, urban space and an app-based audience journey.

How it was built

Problem
The 2020 trailer master was unusable, and the promo had to be rebuilt in English from the original footage — through more rounds of notes than a hand-cut timeline survives.
System
The edit lives as data. A JSON shot list drives a build script that reassembles the film — cuts, titles, cover and audio levels — in one command.
My role
Creative direction and the pipeline itself. I wrote the edit list, ran the rebuilds, and took each round of notes straight into the data.
Result
A 2:04 English film at 1920×1080. Every round of notes went into the shot list and came back as a new master.
